Abstract
468,717. Braiding. MARTI, J. M. Feb. 25, 1936, No. 5657. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 3, 1936.] [Class 74 (i)] [Also in Group XXV] A driving band, more particularly suitable for driving spindles, comprises a multi-strand endless rubber core enclosed in one or more endless plaited or braided tubes, which enclose the core loosely when the band is unstretched. The core may be made from a single strand of rubber knotted together, made into a figure 8, and folded on itself several times. The knot is untied after part of the cover has been made. The band may be impregnated with rubber and vulcanized. The core may be trained round five pulleys, 4 ... 8, Fig. 5, of which 8 is a tension pulley. The thread 13 passes from the cop 11 through a guide 12 to the point 14, where it meets threads from other spindles (not shown) and is braided on to the core. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 102,754, [Class 109].
