Abstract
468,527. Doors ; preventing forcing of fastenings. WILKES, O. F., WILKES, F. W. G., and JONES, C. W. March 6, 1936, No. 6747. [Class 20 (iii)] Hinged double doors of cabinets or the like of the kind which are fastened by a bolt on one entering a recess in the other, are characterized in that one of the doors has an extension or abutment 6 coacting with the other door to prevent the doors being opened simultaneously while the bolt is engaged. The doors shown are of sheet metal, the extension 6 being a continuation of an inturned flange 5, and being provided with an inturned end 7 engaging between the flanges of the second door. As well as vertical flanges 7, 11, which are apertured for the lock bolt, flanges are provided on the remaining edges, and tongues 3 on the outer flanges are curled around a hinge pin and connected with curled ends of hinge strips 4 on the frame. The inturned flange 7 of the extension 6 is cut away at the top and bottom ends to fit between the body flanges 2 of the other door.
