468,451. Endless-chain conveyers. SPRAY, P. C. J. Jan. 8, 1936, No. 600. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XIV] In a storing and issuing apparatus for miners' lamps or other articles, the lamps &c. are hung on hooks B2 depending from runners B on closed tracks C, the runners being interconnected by chains G passing round driving sprockets H and tensioning sprockets H<1>. A common shaft J for the driving sprockets H is driven by an electric motor K controlled by a switch M operated by a shaft N having arms O projecting into the paths of the lamps at the issuing point at one end of the tracks. When the lamp at the issuing point on each track has been removed, the arms O are freed, and the shaft N rotates to close the circuit of the motor K which drives the chains G to move up one more lamp on each track C to the issuing point, whereupon the motor circuit is again broken. The shafts L of the tensioning sprockets H<1> are adjustable in brackets F secured to the framework D ; the curved ends C<1> of the tracks are carried by the shafts L and have a sliding engagement with the straight portions of the tracks. In place of the automatic switch M, a pedal operated switch may be employed.
