Abstract

282,862. Heuze, C. Sept. 25, 1926. Parallel rails and pushers on endless chains; roller-way conveyers.-In apparatus for polishing :glass strip, a polishing runner 2 is lifted on to a roller conveyer 4 at the end of the operative course and is thus returned to its starting point and then transferred to the tables 1 for a fresh cycle of operations. The runners are traversed along the roller way 4 by means of duplicated driving chains 36 having projections 37 which engage bars 2<a> projecting from the runners. The chains 36 pass over sprocket wheels 38 driven from a shaft 9 through chain gearing 40. The runners are lifted on to the conveyer by a lifting apparatus 5 and lowered on to the tables at the end of the run by a similar lowering mechanism 5<1>.
