Abstract

468,285. Preventing condensation on windows. WALLIS, E. T. Jan. 1, 1936, No. 34. [Class 20 (iii)] An apparatus for preventing or removing condensation of water on windows and other surfaces, of the kind described in Specification 433,456 is now characterized in that the air intake is mounted inside the shop or building, slightly above or below the level of the floor thereof, and that the outlet nozzle for the air is oscillatably or rotatably mounted. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the air drawn through an inlet 4 beneath the floor level, into the casing 5 of a pump driven by an electric motor 6, is expelled through an outlet pipe 9 and nozzle 10 and impinges on the window or like surface. The nozzle is mounted on ballbearings 11 and is caused to oscillate or rotate by the stream of air impinging on a suitably shaped blade 14 mounted on an axial member 12. The air intake may be fitted with thermal conducting strips or studs to dissipate the heat of the air drawn in, and a filter also incorporated if desired, while the intake may be telescopically mounted on the pump casing. In order to direct the air in various directions, suitably shaped ribs may be fitted within the nozzle. A portable form of the apparatus is shown in Fig. 2, in which the top of the motor casing is formed into a tray 16, to hold some of the goods being displayed.
