Abstract

465,566. Winding yarns. VEYRENC, F. J. Oct. 15, 1936, No. 27965. Convention date, Oct. 21, 1935. [Class 120 (ii)] A tensioning - device for a yarn-winding machine comprises a number of rollers o on each of two arms a, b, the arm a being stationary and the arm b being keyed to a spindle f free to rotate in the arm a and connected by a spring to a cylindrical hub g connected to the arm a by a ratchet i and pawl j by which the position of the arm b and the tension on the yarn is adjusted. As shown, the hub is adjusted by turning the ratchet i forming a side plat e of the hub, but a pinion gearing with the ratchet and formed with a milled knob may be provided for actuating it. The pawl is controlled by a spring and the two pawls and springs may be provided to obtain a finer adjustment of the hub. The device is fixed to the winding machine by a bracket d and the spindle f may carry the member m, the movement of which when the thread breaks, actuates a knock-off motion.
