[Class 40 (v)] For facilitating accurate tuning the selectivity and/or A.V.C. time constant are temporarily increased. Thus a switch 5 may be opened to cut out the coupling condenser 4 between the tuned circuits 2, 3 of an I.F. coupling transformer, and a switch 12 may be opened to throw a large resistance 8 into the A.V.C. feed circuit. The switches 5, 12 are preferably operated by the movement of the tuning knob. Specification 438,831 is' referred to.
