[Class 27] In a coin-freed kinematographic apparatus, a coin b, Fig. 1, inserted in a shoot a drops on to a lever d and moves aside one arm e of an elbow-lever g pivoted at f, this lever carrying a contact i which engages a fixed contact k and closes a circuit to allow a film m to be driven over a film guide l. The switch is not closed unless the coin is of sufficient weight to overcome a counterweight h on the lever g and is of proper diameter as determined by a block c projecting into the shoot. The weight hand block c are adjustable in position to set the apparatus for use with different coins. The lever d is connected to a rod n, Fig. 2, controlled by a spring p and having a roller o engaging the edge of the film. The coin is discharged and the circuit broken at i, k when the roller o moves ini o a recess q in the film edge. Should the film break, an extension r on the lever d closes contacts s, t in the circuit of an alarm device.
