Abstract
342,366. Door stops and holders. GLOVER, F. N., 55, Denmark Hill, London. Nov. 5, 1929, No. 33614. [Class 65 (i).] In a door holder comprising a stop mounted on an arm pivoted to the floor, a number of holes or a slot in the arm, or other means, is provided for adjustment of the stop or the pivot, or both, along the arm. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, A is the stop, B the arm with adjustment holes Bl, and C is the pivot ; a second fixed or adjustable stop D, which may be dispensed with, is provided at or near the pivot. The stop A may be moved from its inoperative position, shown dotted, by the foot or by a spring released by the door striking the stop D, where provided. In another modification, Fig. 5, the stop A is adjustably carried on one arm of a bell crank pivoted at C, and a stop G on the other arm is moved into position to hold the door X open, by the door striking the stop A ; the stop G may be replaced by a projection for foot operation. A plate H, Fig. 5, carrying pips H<4> which engage with a hole B<4> in the crank arm, may be fixed to the floor to hold the crank in either position ; this retaining means may also be applied to the single arm stop.
