Abstract
462,640. Rotary steam boilers. MASCHINENFABRIK ING. H. SIMMON. June 26, 1936, No. 17809. Convention date, June 28, 1935. [Class 123 (ii)] Water is forced through groups of Fieldtubes 6 mounted like spokes on a hollow shaft 1 rotated above a furnace 14. The water is supplied at one end 2 of the shaft and is directed through the first groups of tubes in series flow, and the steam generated in these groups is directed through the remaining groups in parallel flow. A helical vane may be provided between the inner and outer tube of each Fieldtube, and inclined longitudinal fins may be provided on the outer surfaces of the tubes nearest the flue outlet 18 to serve as blowers. Bars 16 baffling the furnace gases project from the casing into the spaces between the tube groups. A fan may be mounted on the rotated shaft outside the casing to draw air through a jacket 17 and supply it to the furnace. The tubes may increase in length towards the flue outlet.
