462,476. Saws. EWART, R. D. Oct. 10, 1935, No. 27947. [Class 145 (ii)] [Also in Group VI] A knife for a machine for slicing bread and the like is of crescent form, and, at least that part of the edge which first engages the crust of the loaf is formed with sharp teeth 5 to break through the crust. The teeth, which may extend along the entire knife edge, are formed by cutting transverse grooves 4 which do not extend to the full depth of the sharpened edge. The teeth may be alternately offset to opposite sides.
