462,261. Boxes; putting up surgical appliances. GELINSKY, E. Dec. 14, 1935, No. 34778. Convention date, Jan. 10. [Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] A bandage container consists of a box having a cover attached to and foldable around it to provide a storage space between the box and the cover on three sides, the cover acting as a tray when open. The cover, comprising a series of mutually hinged sections H, H<1>, H<11> of which the section H is hinged to the box A, may be folded around the box, flanges J, J<1> J<11> engaging over projecting flanges on the box walls E, F, so leaving a space between the cover and the box top and sides. A plate or dish M, and surgical instrument, secured to the cover and the box top G respectively, are accommodated in the space. The box contains a roll of bandage strip on a removable spindle O, and the side B, which may be opened for filling the box, is inclined at an angle C to provide a slot D through which the bandage may be withdrawn, it being prepared on the tray (which may be sterilized) formed by the cover when opened out. A press-button or other fastening L on a flap K may be used to secure the cover when closed. The cover may be arranged to fit closely against the sides and top of the box, bulges being formed in the sections to provide storage spaces. In this case, the flap K is omitted and the fastening L provided on the section H<11>. When the container is of pasteboard the cover may be folded to produce the sections H, H<1>, H<11>, the folds being reinforced with linen strips, or the linen strips may form these hinges. The container may be protected by cloth, and fitted with a handle, and suitable openings, having closures, may be provided for sterilizing purposes. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, it is stated that the cloth cover is sterilized and that the container may be of metal, independent hinges being provided for the sections of the cover. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
