Abstract
462,087. Electric clocks. DEWAELE. R. April 20, 1936, No. 11288. Convention date, April 20, 1935..[Class 139] An electric clock in which an electromagnet 6 periodically moves a first spring-controlled lever 4, one end of which gives an impulse to a pin 3 rigid with the balance staff 1 and reverse movement being by the hairspring, is characterized in that the make and break of the magnet circuit is caused by a second spring-controlled lever 10 actuated periodically by a cam 9 on a disc 8 rigid with the staff 1, said cam 9 being arranged oppositely to the impulse pin 3 with respect to the staff 1. As this staff swings counterclockwise to the position shown, the pin 3 on disc 2 passes to below the end of the armature lever 4 and the cam 9 actuates the blade 11 on lever 10 to press contact 13 down on to contact 14. The consequent energization of electromagnet 6 causes lever 4 to rotate the balance staff 1 further counterclockwise. Cam 9 wipes past blade 11 and spring 17 breaks the contacts. The staff 1 is then returned by the hairspring.
