Abstract
456,384. Time switches. OSBORN, H. J., Burnside, Old Kilpatrick, Dumbartonshire, and SHARP, W., 32, Barrington Drive, Glasgow. July 23, 1935, No. 20873. [Class 38 (v)] A time switch comprises a lever 7 pivoted at 6 and having a double contact 10 movable between fixed contacts 8, 9, a snap-action being provided by a permanent magnet 20 and armature 19. The lever 7 is moved from the position shown by the engagement of a clockdriven arm 14 with an insulating cam surface 12 on the lever 7. The return movement is effected by a pin 16 on a second clock-driven arm 15 engaging a second cam surface 13 on the lever 7. A second pin 17 on arm 15 rotates a star-wheel 27 having seven spokes so that once a week, a pin 26 inserted into any one of the spokes tilts a lever 21 pivoted at 22 to separate contacts 23, 24 in series with contact 10, thus putting the switch out of action for one day of each week. The switch is stated to be useful for controlling the energization of a relay described in Specification 291,494, [Class 38 (v)].
