Abstract

461,449. Siphon heads. IDRIS, Ltd., and IDRIS, W. T. W. Oct. 31, 1935, No. 30109. [Class 14 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] A metal siphon head 1, including an integral spout 2, is stamped in halves which are united by welding or soldering. Preferably, a corrosion - resisting alloy, such as a chrome-iron or nickelcopper alloy, is used, and the head may be chromium plated. Before the halves are united, an insert of ceramic material, comprising a valve body 14 and spout liner 13, is positioned between them. The insert is retained by a metal ring 12 with a rubber washer 11 and a metal ring 10 with a valve seating 9 of ceramic material, and may be secured in the head by cement or a fusible alloy. The head is secured to the bottle 15 by two half-rings 16 having a flange 19, which may or may not be threaded, fitting inside the skirt of the head and a threaded flange 18 co-operating with external threads on the skirt.
