Abstract
461,150. Cores for moulding concrete in situ. ROUTLEDGE, H. A. Sept. 27, 1935, No. 26740. [Class 20 (ii)] A rigid core or former 1 for forming holes in concrete and like floors, has a smooth conical surface and is fitted, at its smaller end, with a wood screw 9 for attachment to the shuttering 13, and with a threaded rod at its larger end for the attachment of a tommy bar 11. The threaded rod may, as shown, pass axially through the core and carry the wood screw, its end near the wood screw being screw-threaded for the attachment of the tommy-bar during transport. Pins 4, 5, diametrically opposed, project from the larger end of the core and act as abutments for the handle 10 of the tommybar, as shown in Fig. 3, should the core be otherwise difficult to remove from the floor 14. The base of the core may rest upon an inverted metal box 15 which is apertured for the passage of the screw 9. This box, which is adapted to be embedded permanently in the concrete, is provided with apertures for the passage of pipes or electric conductors, and has inturned lugs having tapped holes for the connection of ceiling plates.
