Description

Nov. 21, 1939. F. s. TRUSLER 2,180,375
CLAMP FORDENTAL FLASKS Filed Sept. 26, 1958 I In ventor Z157 fijflez A iiorneys Patented Nov. 21, 1939 UNITED STATES 2 Claims.
without using flask clamps, and it is accordingly an object of the present invention to provide a clamp of this character which occupies a relatively small amount of space and has the required strength to positively secure the flask in position.
Other objects and advantages reside in the details of construction as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part thereof, wherein like numerals refer to like parts through out, and in which Figure 1 is a front elevational view showing the ends of a dental flask secured in position between a pair of clamps.
Figure 2 is a view in elevation of the inner side of the clamp, and t Figure 3 is a similar view of the rear surface of the clamp.
Referring now to the drawing in detail, the numeral 5 designates the clamp generally which includes a casting embodying a wall 6 having an outstanding flange 7 formed around three of the edges of the wall and with the remaining edge of the wall provided with a pair of flanges 8 constituting shoulders which terminate in spaced relation from each other to provide an opening 9 between the shoulders at the adjacent edge of the wall 6. Set screws II] are threadedthrough the shoulders 8 and adapted to extend in a direction to the flange I I formed at the opposite edge of the wall.
One of the castings is adapted to be placed at each end of a dental flask indicated generally at l2' with the shoulders H of the flask confined 5 within the flanges 1 extending about the wall E5 and the wall 6 abutting the ends of the flask. The set screws H] are then threaded homeagainst the shoulder l3 of the flask whereby it will be apparent that the ends of the flask are securely 10 clamped in position within the casting.
The space 9 between the adjacent ends of the shoulders 8 is provided to accommodate the raised portion of the flask formed on the shoulders l3.
It is believed the details of construction and manner of use of the device will be readily understood from the foregoing without further detailed explanation.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim is- 1. A clamp for dental flasks comprising a casting including an end wall having a flange. extending around three sides thereof and adapted to accommodate the end of a dental flask, a pair of shoulders'formed on the remaining edge of the wall of the casting and set screws threaded through said shoulders and adapted for engagement with the upper surface of the flask to clamp the same in position in the casting.
2. A clamp for dental flasks comprising an end 0" plate adapted for positioning at the end of the flask, inwardly extending flanges formed on three sides of the plate and extending inwardly with respect to the flask, a pair of shoulders formed on the remaining edge of the plate and terminat-
