Abstract

461,033. Indicating - apparatus. ARCHBALD, R. H. Dec. 10, 1935, No. 34252. [Class 106 (iv)] The casing 10 of an indicating instrument has a cover comprising a transparent or windowed end 11 and a peripheral flange 12 extending at right-angles to the end 11 and having means for attachment to the casing 10, the peripheral flange 12 being transparent for the whole or a part of its depth, so that the instrument can be illuminated in a lateral direction from an external source 23. The cover may be made in a single-piece moulding from transparent synthetic resin and may be attached to the case by a screw thread 13. The end 11 has a flange 17 which, in conjunction with a bridge piece 15 and nut 16, holds the instrument in place in a panel 21. Lamps 23 may be placed behind the panel and may be in a compartment as shown. One lamp may be common to several instruments. An opaque ring 24 is painted round the end 11.
