Abstract
461,008. Transformers. BUCHHOLZ, M. July 8, 1935, No. 19481. Convention date, July 26, 1934. [Class 38 (ii)] An indicating device for liquid-filled electrical apparatus in which gases of decomposition &c. may be generated, comprises a liquid-filled collecting vessel containing a float, the liquid level and thereby the float being depressed by the gases collecting in the vessel, the float being arranged to give a visible indication by substantial alteration of position. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a float i is pivoted at d in a vessel g so that on the level of the liquid falling it will take up a position in front of the window s. In a modification, Fig. 2, the float i moves vertically, the top half of the front being opaque. The single float may be replaced by a number of small floats. In a further modification, the front has opaque stripes across it and the float has a similar pattern arranged so that when the float is in the lower position the pattern become visible. To enable liquid to escape readily from the chamber as gas enters a byepass may be provided. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the subject-matter of Specification 459,528. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
