[Class 97 (i)] In apparatus in which the film fed from one spool to another passes in two superposed layers over one sprocket, one of the layers passing between the spools, as described in the parent Specification, a movable guide member is provided to prevent premature winding of a part of the film on the take-up spool. Fig. 1 shows a film magazine in which the film F passes from a spool 5 round a sprocket 11 to a gate 9, forming a loop around the take-up spool 8, and then again over the sprocket to the spool 8. The spool spindles are spaced apart a distance less than the diameter of a full spool, and a curved guide 13, pivotally mounted on a pin 14, extends between the spools. The guide contacts at its upper end with the film on the take-up spool, and, at its lower end, with the film passing from the sprocket, and may be shaped so as to contact only with the film margins. Fig. 2 shows a cross-section of the guide having oppositely offset portions 15, 16 to engage the film margins ; alternatively the guide may have sinuous marginal portions or semicircular depressions in the marginal portions.
