Abstract
460,776. Cutting-up &c. wood. WILSON, J. K. July 31, 1935, No, 21686. [Class 145 (i)] [Also in Groups VII and VIII] A loose insole or sock for insertion in footwear comprises a number of strips 1 of wood of the same or different widths secured side by side, by a heat and damp resisting cement, to a backing 2 of cloth, leather or leatherette. Sheets of wood with the backing layer adhesively secured thereto are passed through a cutting machine having knives which cut barely through the wood to divide it into strips 1 with strips 3, 4 of greater width at the toe and heel ends of the insole. A die knife in a power press cuts the insoles to shape and size from the incised sheet.
