460,643. Optical sound recording and reproducing apparatus. GORBENA, R. G. April 23, 1935, No. 12255. Void. Convention date, April 19, 1934. [Class 40 (ii)] Sound is recorded optically on one or both sides of an endless band 1 of paper, celluloid, gelatine, &c., so as to produce a continuous sound track 2 in the form of a plurality of parallel lines which are displaced laterally by oblique lines at the point 3. The band 1 is mounted on rollers 4, the distance between which can be adjusted at will. The rollers may also be provided with adjustable or non-adjustable upstanding rims. The record may be reproduced by reflected light or, if the band 1 is transparent, the light may be transmitted through the band on to a photo-electric cell.
