Abstract

460,546. Stapled joints. DURELL. B. C., and DURELL, W. C. March 23, 1936, No. 8588. [Class 89 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] Plywood, fibre board, &c. sections 1, 1<a> which butt together are joined by staples 3 arranged in alternate staggered relation ; the staples may be oblique to the joint line. The prongs of the staples are driven through the sections and clinched inwardly, being wholly embedded in the sections or in a backing strip 4, Fig. 4, which overlaps the adjacent edges of the sections. The invention has particular reference to joining the edges of a sheet of plywood &c. which is bent around to form a keg or drum.
