460,351. Treating gases with liquids. BARREAU, P. A. May 29, 1936, No. 15197. Convention date, June 6, 1935. [Class 55 (ii)] In apparatus in which salt water is concentrated by being allowed to flow in contact with an air stream through a chamber A packed with faggots 11, 1<2>, 1<3> ..., the latter are piled upon each other in such a way as to produce wide open spaces. For example as shown, the faggots in each layer are arranged at right angles to those in the row below. The salt water is drawn from a vat 4 by a pump 5 and discharged through spray 7 into the concentration chamber from which it returns to the vat. When it is sufficiently concentrated, the solution is withdrawn from the vat and supplied to apparatus for producing salt crystals.
