Abstract
Boric acid is obtained in an anhydrous and friable condition by fusing it and cooling the fused mass suddenly to obtain a granular, fibrous or flocculent mass. The fused acid may be introduced in thin streams into cold water and after fragmentation be quickly withdrawn and adherent water removed; or a stream or streams of the fused acid may be sprayed with cold water under pressure or be subjected to a blast or blasts of compressed air or steam.
