In the chamber process for making sulphuric acid, the Glover and Gay-Lussac towers are used without any filling, and the acid is sprayed into the top of them in a fine spray for instance by spraying-nozzles. The towers consist of a lead casing with stone lining. Specification 202,629 is referred to.
