Abstract
459,622. Portable buildings. NEHER, C. A., 50, Schweinheimer Strasse, Aschaffenburg-on-Main, Germany. Feb. 21, 1936, No. 5327. Convention date, March 8, 1935. [Class 20 (i)] A portable building is formed of panel sections adapted to be hinged together at their edges by means located to one side of the abutting edges, which are provided with interfitting portions and are drawn together as the panels are set in line. In one form, Fig. 3, the panels are surrounded by rigid metal frames 4 having curved interfitting portions on their edges, and one frame member is provided with an angle-piece 5 turned away from the joint to engage with cam action a piece 6 secured to the other frame member and cause end pressure at the joint as the panels are pressed into alignment. In another form, Fig. 4, the joint 7, 8 is disposed slightly to one side of the jointed edges whereby the joint is sealed on aligning the panels. Packing pieces may be used between the frame members, and in the roof joints projections may be provided on the frame members to receive cap plates. The panels are secured to upper frame anglemembers 18 by projections 17 or slotted pins and wedges and to lower frame members 13 by slotted pins or staples 15 and wedges 16. The roof frame members 27, Fig. 10, carry hooks 25 adapted to engage upper hinge members or separate clips 24 on the side panels 1, and the roof panels are secured to the frame members by pins 30 engaging slots 31.
