Two panels 1, 2 are secured together at right angles by a coupling member 9a comprising two mutually perpendicular faces, each having means for engaging with cooperating formations in plates 4 let into the panels. In the preferred embodiment, the connecting member comprises studs 8, each for selective engagement in one of two slots 6 provided in the plates 4, the choice of slots depending on whether the panel 2 is to overlap the end of the panel 1, as in Fig. 1, or vice versa. The plates 4 may be let into the outer surfaces of the panels 1, 2, in which case the coupling member is L-shaped in section, to embrace the external angle between the united panels.
