Abstract

458,863. Digesters. SPENCER, E., 8, Clive Street, and MITCHELL, F. S., Chartered Bank Buildings, both in Calcutta, India. July 15, 1935, No. 20172. [Class 64 (i)] The false bottom of a digester has a number of perforated ridges 4 arranged so as to avoid any tendency to prevent movement of the charge towards the outlet. The ridges radiate from the centre of the digester, and the crests 4b and valleys 5b are inclined towards a central opening 6a ; or the valleys may be horizontal. The opening is provided with a valve 15 of conical form such as that described in Specification 457,891. Liquor from the space 7 below the ridges may be circulated through a space 8 above gratings 9. Specification 322,741, [Class 64 (i)], also is referred to.
