Abstract
457,724. Powder blowers. STANCO, Inc., Linden, New Jersey, U.S.A. March 24, 1936, No. 8761. Convention date, July 20, 1935. [Class 18] A powder-containing casing 1 for use with powder blowers is closed at one end by a disc 2 provided with a discharge aperture and at the other end by a felt or ceramic, &c. disc 4 which is pervious to air but' not to powder. A blower is constituted by such a cartridge in telescopic engagement with an air-compressing member 6 the open end of which is closed by a metal disc 7 crimped in position. The closure 2 is a metal disc crimped into position, and the discharge aperture therein may be only partially punched, or may be formed in a depression filled with wax, rubber cement, &c. which is pierced when the blower is first used, or the aperture may be closed by a sealing disc of frangible material. The disc 4 which is glued to the casing may be cup-shaped and inset into the casing and it may be secured in position by a cup-shaped metal ring. The device is made from metal, or moisture-proofed strawboard, &c. Specification 456,794 is referred to.
