Abstract
Tropical or semitropical marine algae are cultivated in a sugary medium until translucent white globules are obtained which may be dried to produce a gum.ALSO:Tropical or semitropical marine algae are cultivated in a sugary medium until translucent white globules are obtained. These globules may be dried to produce a gum or may be used as a ferment for preparing alcohol or beverages from sugary fruit juices, e.g. figs, prunes, grapes, sugars and milk. The material may be used as a medicinal remedy similar to Dispora Caucasica or Bacterium Bulgaricum, for producing Toghourt, for making sparkling wines from still wines, for making ginger beer, and when dried as an absorbent for liquids, and to separate solids from solutions.
