Abstract

<PICT:0457052/III/1> A dry-cleaning machine comprises a condenser 1, storage tank 6, washing chamber 9 and still 4 mounted vertically one above the other, a vaned or bladed agitator 11 in place of a tumbling drum within the washing tank, and driving gear for the agitator housed between the washing chamber and the still. As shown, the agitator consists of a bell portion with upstanding blades 11a and is rotated to-and-fro within a loose perforated basket 12. The agitator is driven by a motor 13, worm, crank-disc, rack and pinion. The washing tank is connected with the still by a valve pipe (not shown). A relief valve 5 is provided.
