Abstract

<PICT:0372762/IV/1> A washing machine also suitable for dyeing &c. is provided with means for causing a flow of the treating liquid in opposite directions alternately through the articles to be treated and comprises a receptacle having double walls 13, 18, a perforated bottom 20 and a cylindrical casing 19 in which a perforated piston 24 is reciprocated by a motor 27. The liquid beneath the piston on its downward stroke is forced up between the double walls and out through orifices 23 into the container thus maintaining a circulation. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 18115/89, [Class 15, Bleaching &c.], 2689/15, [Class 138 (ii), Washing, mangling, &c.], 9372/15, 270,307, and 329,526, [all in Class 15 (i), Dyeing &c., Apparatus for].
