Abstract
456,548. Lubricating. PLATT BROS. & CO., Ltd., Hartford Works, and CLEGG, J. K., 274, Frederick Street, both in Oldham. Aug. 20, 1935, No. 23333. [Class 12 (iii)] The ends of the flat bars of carding- engines are lubricated and burnished by a pair of revolvable brushes c<2> which brush graphite from a block e on to the bar ends. The operation is only performed when grinding of the card is taking place, and when this is to be done in the engine shown, the ordinary flat cleaning brush is removed from the bearings a on the brackets a<1> and a shaft b is substituted therefor. The shaft b carries two brushes c<2> and supports brackets d each with a graphite block e pressed on to a brush c<2> by a weight d<3>. The shaft b is driven by a rope b<2> from a pulley b3 on the shaft b<4> of the flat driving pulley b<5>.
