Abstract
456,452. Electric radiators. CLIFFDOWN ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES, Ltd., and BRICE, J. E. L., 12, Victoria Street, Westminster. May 10, 1935, No. 13801. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric radiator comprises a frustoconical base member 1, a hollow vertical cylindrical core 6 of heat resisting and insulating material on which a heating resistance is wound, and a cap 8 of inverted frusto-conical form. In addition to the heating by radiation from the heating element, convective heating is also produced by air circulation through the core 6. The base and cap are hollow and formed of sheet metal, apertures for the air circulation being provided in the base and cap. Articles are prevented from falling down the inside of the radiator by a plate 11 which may be perforated. A protective wire gauze grid 15 surrounds the heating element. Further protection is afforded by bars 14 connecting the cap and base.
