Abstract

455,728. Electric heating resistances. TRENT, H. E., 54th Street, Philadelphia, U.S.A. Aug. 30, 1935, No. 24314. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric heating element comprises a resistance 8 strung through a succession of short insulating members 9 and inserted in a sheath open at one end, the spaces in and around the resistance and insulators being filled with a finely divided powder capable of remaining finely divided after heating. A block 12 attached to the resistance and carrying terminals 20a and 21a closes the end of the sheath through which the resistance is inserted. The terminals project through a slot in the sheath which is hermetically sealed around the block. A groove 28 may be formed in the sheathing to space the groups of insulating members.
