Abstract

455,596. Supply systems for vehicle lamps. TYSON, W., 125, Littlefield Lane, Grimsby. June 23, 1936, No. 17478. [Class 38 (iv)] [See also Group XI] A headlight system for road vehicles comprises an offside lamp a with two filaments b, c of differing power in alignment, a nearside lamp d with two filaments e, f of the same power set at an inclination to one another and associated with a dipping reflector g, and a single switch k for controlling the energization of the filaments and the position of the reflector so as to obtain beams to suit any given circumstances. The reflector g may be dipped by a solenoid h, the lower powered filament b may be associated with a screening hood, and a master switch i may be provided. The filaments e, f are both energized for all positions of the three-way switch k, the reflector g is dipped for position 1 only, the filament b is energized for positions 1 and 2, whilst the filament c is energized for position 3 only.
