455,576. Gun mountings; sights. RHEINMETALL - BORSIG AKT. - GES., 125, Ulmenstrasse, Derendorf, and MULLER, E., 25, Windscheidstrasse, both in D³sseldorf, Germany. Feb. 4, 1936, No. 3354. [Classes 92 (i) and 92 (ii)] Relates to guns having a cross-levelling adjustment on trunnions E (see plan) in addition to the usual elevation adjustment about a trunnion C and training adjustment about a vertical pivot. According to the invention the eyepiece K<1> of the training telescope is situated in a prolongation of the axis of the trunnions E so that, during crosslevelling adjustment, the eyepiece does not move away from the eye of the gun trainer who occupies a seat H moving with the gun in training. In the form shown, two guns A, A<1> carried in cradles B, B<1> are trunnioned for elevation in a block D itself mounted for cross-levelling on trunnion pins E in bearings carried by the trainable part G of the mounting. Depending from the block D is a sector S carrying a seat L for the gun elevator who moves with the gun during cross-levelling which is effected by a gear O engaging the sector. The elevators. sight M is carried by arms x extending from the block D so as to follow the cross-levelling movement.
