Abstract
455,306. Compound fabrics. CALICO PRINTERS' ASSOCIATION, Ltd., LANTZ, L. A., and HASSID, N. J., St. James's Buildings, Oxford Street, Manchester. April 18, 1935, No. 11962. [Class 140] A permeable compound fabric for wearing- apparel such as shirts comprises several laminµ of cloth, one, some or all of which consist of or contain regenerated cellulose, the laminae being superposed, treated with an agent which swells regenerated cellulose, and united by pressure. Layers of cotton or other cloth may be united by an intermediate layer of or containing regenerated cellulose, e.g. a fabric having a cotton warp and a viscose artificial silk weft, the superposed layers being passed through caustic soda solution, pressed in a heavy mangle, dried if desired, washed in weak acid, and rinsed ; or a single layer of cotton cloth and a layer of weft sateen with cotton warp and viscose weft may be so united. Alternatively, two layers of cotton cloth and an intermediate layer of cloth with a cotton warp and a cuprammonium artificial silk weft are superposed, treated with zinc chloride solution, united by pressure, washed and dried.
