Abstract
455,113. Frictional pocket igniters. FLORMAN, I., 800, Riverside Drive, Grand Central Annex, New York, U.S.A. Nov. 29, 1935, No. 33205. Convention date, July 30. [Class 75 (iii)] The pivoted wick cap carrier 32, is con nected by a spring 44 with the hingec lid 24 and is held ir the closed position by a shoulder 48 thereor engaging a pin 50 or a pivoted spring-pres sed latch 52 so that, on opening the lid 24 as by means of the thumb, the wick-car 34 remains closed and the spring 44 is stressed until a pin 60 on the lid disengages the latch and the wick-cap is snapped open by the spring, the friction wheel being simultaneously operated through a one-way ratchet coupling with the carrier 32. The closing movement of the carrier 32 is effected by the lid 24 engaging the wick-cap 34 until the pin 46 engages an extension 47 of the carrier to complete the movement.
