[Class 122 (v)] A resilient packing-ring for pipe stuffing- box joints comprises a resilient rubber packing a with protecting caps b, c, of hard rubber, ebonite, or rubber with separate fillers added during manufacture which ensure, after vulcanization, the necessary hardness or resistance to corrosion. The protecting cap directed towards the socket outlet consists of rubber particularly resistant to mechanical stresses, the other cap resisting corrosion.
