[Class 38 (v)] [See also Group II] A motor switch 76 cannot be switched on by means of a lever 71 until the dial 30 of a coffee mill has been moved into a position to select a particular grade of coffee and cannot be switched off by a spring 80 until the dial has been returned to its "off " position. The switch 76 is connected by a link 75 to a hook 73 mounted on a shaft 70, the hook being provided with a pawl 77 limited in its movement by a pin-andslot 78 and controlled by a spring 79. When the dial 30 is in the " off " position the bar 86 engages a projection on the back of the disc and the pawl 77 rests on the bent end 87 of the bar so that the lever 71 cannot be raised to operate the switch. When the dial is turned to select a grade of coffee, the bar 86 moves into a recess and the end 87 clears the pawl 77 to permit switch lever 71 to be raised and retained in that position by the hook 73 engaging the end 87 of the bar. When the coffee has been ground the dial is turned to the " off " position, the bar 86 is pushed back by the projection and the end 87 clears the hook 73 to permit the spring 80 to return the switch to its " off " position. A single motor may drive two mills each having a switch operating gear connected to the switch by a slotted link. A finger on the shaft 70 may also trip a tumbler switch of an indicator.
