[Class 80 (ii)] [See also Group XXVI] A compressor or pump of the gearedvane type has two pairs of vanes a, b, on concentric shafts d, c, which are both driven by an inclined shaft e through two Cardan joints e<2>g, fc<1>. Aringghas four pivots in the form of a cross, two swivelling in a fork d<1>, and the other two in a fork e<2>. The drive between the shafts e and c is formed of a cross f of which two pivots swivel in the fork c<1> carried by the shaft c, while the other two pivots are pivoted in the fork e<1>. The resulting relative motions of the shafts c, dare alternations 90‹ out of phase with one another. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 241,520, [Class 80 (ii)].
