[Class 78 (iv)] Transporter cranes, of the type comprising a standard carrying a hinged horizontal jib, are provided with a number of parallel tracks on the jib, each track carrying an independently-operated traversing and lifting trolley. In the form shown a boom pivoted at 19 carries three unequally-spaced tracks each carrying its own trolley 15. Luffing. The boom is luffed by a drum 32 which is driven by a motor 33 and winds both ends of a cable 30 passing over pairs of pulleys 29, 29<a> and forming a loop at its remote end round a pair of pulleys 29<b> carried by arms pivoted on the shaft 25.
