[Class 47 (ii)] Means for initiating, in case of fire, the closing of a rolling shutter a which normally is held rolled on a spindle b within a casing e, comprises a pivoted lever h which is held raised by a catch lever l locked by a cable m and fusible link o. When the latter is fused, the lever h is turned by a spring k so that a roller j at its free end engages the bottom bar d of the shutter. The lever h finally assumes a position against a stop p where it will not interfere with subsequent raising or lowering of the shutter. The lever h is mounted substantially midway of the length of the casing e, upon the wall or surface on which the casing is supported. Alternatively, two or more levers h may be provided mounted equidistantly from the ends of the casing or otherwise, and may be controlled by a corresponding number of catch levers l provided with a common fusible release mechanism. A spring may be provided for moving the catch lever l, and closable openings or other means may be provided in the casing e for facilitating resetting of the mechanism.
