[Class 106 (iv)] An indicating - instrument has a concave dial b and a bent pointer c and is illuminated by lamps h, h<1>, placed behind an opaque panel g, the light passing through holes h<4>, h<5>, in the casing. The invention is shown applied to a speedometer having trip and total mileage counters d, d<1>, viewed through apertures in the dial, the counter drums being illuminated by light passing behind the dial.
