Abstract

409,143. Indicating-apparatus; clocks. MINASSIANTZ, R. MELIK-, 11, Rue La Fayette, Paris. May 25, 1933, No. 15165. Convention date, June 25, 1932. [Class 106 (iv).] The indicating means of apparatus such as clocks or barometers comprises one or more arms extending towards the rear face of a translucent dial, each arm having a disc moving in a circular path parallel with the said rear face, and illuminating means causing a shadow thrown by the disc on to the dial to move in a circular path. When applied to a clock, the hour and minute hands are replaced by arms 11, 10 carrying discs 13, 12. The shadows of these discs are projected on to a translucent plate 3 by lamps 8. The translucent plate is backed by an opaque plate having parts cut out to form the dial and to provide numerical or other indications. The invention is shown applied to a barometer in Fig. 3. The shadow 18 formed by the disc secured to the instrument pointer moves in a translucent area 24 surrounded by tinted zones 19-23. The opaque backing plate has cut-out strips 26 to form scale marks.
