Abstract

For obtaining ceramic dielectrics for electric condensers which will have zero or other desired dielectric temperature coefficient, mixes of refractory materials of positive coefficient and of negative coefficient are made. Of the former, porcelain and magnesium silicate masses containing steatite, and clay and oxides or silicates of the alkaline earths or earth metals or silicon dioxide are mentioned and the latter include titanium dioxide such as in the form of brookite or anastase or alkaline earth titanates. An example of a mix of zero coefficient contains 55 per cent of kaolin, 35 per cent of nitrile and 10 per cent of magnesite.
