[Classes 106 (i) and 106 (iii)] A wheel 6 driven from a vehicle or machine has pins 21, which, at the end of a predetermined distance or a predetermined number of revolutions, rock an arm 19 connected by a link 18 to a latch 11 which releases a lever 12 carrying a contact 10 which is thus brought into engagement with an insulating drum 8 on the spindle of the wheel 6. Shortly afterwards a contact 9 on the drum 8 engages the contact 10 to complete the circuit to a lamp 22 which thus indicates that certain operations (such as changing the engine oil) should be effected. A contact drum rotated once at every mile causes the lamp to flash until the circuit is broken by resetting the arm 12. The wheel 6 may be driven from a mileage meter or may be one of the wheels of a mileage meter or speedometer.
