460,454. Speed indicators. GROSE, W. T., and HARRISON, W. M. Aug. 12, 1935, No. 22653. [Class 106 (iii)] To warn the driver of a vehicle wher the speed limit is reached or exceeded the pointer spindle of the speedometer has clipped upon it a mercury switch comprising an endless tube A with spaced electric con. ductors B, B<1>, B<2> adapted to close the warning signal circuits when bridged by the mercury M which remains at the bottom of the tube. The electric leads to the switch may be provided by the speedometer spindle and its loading-spring. The contact B<2> may be electrically connected to contacts which are intermittently closed by a cam on the mileage counter so as to give an intermittent signal when the speed limit is being exceeded.
